
His Excellency Mohamed Abdullah Al-Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport, stressed the importance of applying the comprehensive management system and its upgrading it continuously. The corporation shall resume the improvement and development of its services and systems on a regular basis, and adopt the best international practices which enable maintaining sustainability, improvement and development of those systems in order to meet its strategic targets and objectives such as making Emirates Transport one of the forefront leading corporations in the field of transport services, technical maintenance, and other services.
The above was said while he presided the meeting of the administrative review of the comprehensive management system at the headquarters of Emirates Transport. The meeting was attended by Mr. Khalid Fadl, Executive Manager of the Corporation Service Sector, Mrs. Henan Saqr, Executive Manager of the Corporation Support Services Sector, Manager of Dubai Branch, Managers of Administrative Affairs, Operations, Governmental Transport, Risk Management, Internal Auditing, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health Office, and Site Management Center.
The meeting discussed a number of important issues related to the system, such as upgrading the internal auditing process, qualifying additional cadres of internal auditors for the system, raising a number of employees in quality, safety and environment work teams, developing and increasing the training programs of the system, implementing more benchmarks in the field of the environment and system, and focusing on following up the development of the employee complaint systems along with the operations department.
During the meeting, Al-Jarman went through the corporation’s accomplishments in the field, and referred to pursuing system objectives as a part of the unified operational plans for the corporation’s departments, branches and centers, striving to achieve new certifications and credentials such as the “Dubai Mark for Communal Responsibility”, the “ISO certificate for the customer complaint system”, and approval of the Transport Department for the environment and safety system, in addition to issuing a study on how to develop a sustainability system for the corporations buildings and facilities in coordination with the Site Management Center, forming work teams to upgrade the system data and develop the accidents and occupational injuries system.
The General Manager of Emirates Transport reviewed during the meeting, the results of the previous external auditing from the authority granting ISO certificates. He added that the system of the Office of Environment, Safety and Occupational Health was to undertake the missions of forming the comprehensive management system’s basics including quality, safety, and environment applied in the corporation to ensure its continuity and suitability, ensure its effectiveness and efficiency as one of the principal requirements for ISO certification, in addition to evaluating the opportunities for improvement and development.
The meeting presented many important recommendations and their follow-up according to a time schedule fixed for them, including continuity of qualifying the auditors of the comprehensive management system, developing the suppliers evaluation and maintenance contracting system. It also presented laying down a time schedule for extending the scope of including the rest of the centers in the ISO certification, coordinating with the internal audit department for the purpose of determining a mechanism to display the final non-compliance notes and cases, in addition to raising awareness of the procedures of waste and refuse.
